Rent our Technology: making the technology ROOTs has developed available to the system.
So this is a hunch, but it's an educated one. The technology that was recently created for ROOTS (integrated website, membership, registration, directory and development systems) might be something that could potentially be very valuable to other organizations. If this is true for you, read on.
It would be in the best interests of an organization with a mission like ROOTS to facilitate that technology becoming available cost effectively to ROOTS organizations.
There are a couple of different scenarios and business models that would support something like that.

Jo Carson, a founding member of Alternate ROOTS, is in the midst of a pitched battle with colon cancer.
Jo has been a self-supporting artist for more than 30 years. Since quality, affordable health insurance is extremely difficult for independent artists to obtain, the insurance coverage Jo has is utterly insufficient to her current need – her policy will cover her surgery, but not the extensive chemotherapy and radiation she is currently under-going.You can help by making a donation through ROOTS to Jo's Medical Expenses Campaign. Please click here to make that important contribution.
Donate Air Miles to ROOTS
Hello ROOTERS,
If you attended the Annual Meeting, you may remember that among other suggestions that could help ROOTS, we suggested that members could donate frequent flyer miles. This would allow us to do the necessary travel to raise funds for programs and services, and save money in our budget!
Please contact us at the office if you or someone you know has extra miles you'd like to share:
Keryl McCord, Managing Director, keryl@alternateroots.org, 404-577-1079
Thanks for your continued support.

Website Redesign
Website Redesign: Getting Started
The first thing that needs to happen is for folks to take a look at the site (both for visual gestalt and for usability) and make a list of things that you would like to see different or that might be problematic or that you would like to see made prettier.
Once that list is together, please add it as a comment to this post. I will take a look at the comments as they are submitted, and once they are in, will set up a meeting to go over the comments people had.
Please post your responses no later by no later than Wednesday of next week (the 16th). If for some reason this is not doable, please send me an email, or put a comment here letting us all know when you'll be able to chime in.
