KITCHEN DUTY – Just like we will all work, we also all work in the kitchen together! (Kitchen shifts do not replace your work co-op duties.) Alternate ROOTS believes that participating in our food preparation and clean-up together builds community, not to mention the fact that it helps to keep the registration fees lower. All full-week attendees are required to assist at least once or twice in kitchen clean-up duty. Attendees who are there for three days or less will do one shift. A kitchen duty sign-up will be available at registration. Our ROOTS Chefs Neil Robinson and Will Merwin, and the rest of the Culinary Team, will show you what to do. This opportunity is often cited as one of the week’s highlights by Annual Meeting participants.
ALL THE REST – As you register, please list your top two choices for a work co-op team assignment, and we’ll do our best to make that happen for you. Please note that there will be a captain of each area who will be helping to make assignments within the team. You don't need to do anything or have advanced training at this time, as you will not know in advance of the meeting what tasks within the team you'll be assigned to until you get there. If you are interested in helping to serve as a captain of one of these areas, a few teams still need captains. Contact Shannon at amcoordinator@alternateroots.org if you're interested.
