REMINDER- SculpTour RFP Proposal Deadline

Sculptors,

Just a reminder that the proposals in response to Suwanee’s “SculpTour” RFP are due by this coming Friday, January 9th at 5:00 PM.  I’m looking forward to hearing from you!  See attachment for RFP – SculpTour 2015 RFP – and below for additional information.

Best,

Toni

The City of Suwanee, a forward thinking, edgy community and three-time recipient of Money Magazine’s Top Small Cities in which to live, has put together a  Call to Artists/Request for Proposal (RFP) for sculptures to be exhibited as part of an outdoor, walkable exhibit of art-on-loan sculptures entitled Suwanee SculpTour.

SculpTour is a temporary 2 year exhibit of original sculptures showcasing a variety of styles, types, sustainable materials and sizes.  This will be our fourth consecutive exhibit which has been enthusiastically received by residents and visitors alike. The first two exhibits alone have resulted in 12 purchases!  The 2013-2015 exhibit is still in place.  Additionally, the City’s public works department provides assistance with set-up.

Here’s what some of our past and current exhibitors are saying about SculpTour:

“As a professional artist I have been a part of many art exhibits, the Suwanee SculpTour is by far the best exposure I have ever received.”  Al Garnto, Blairsville, GA.

“I have gotten tremendous spin-off from my participation. I believe Suwanee’s public art exhibit is one of the best in the Country.”  Gregory Johnson, Cumming, GA.

“It was obvious; all of the hard work and prep time that was done to organize this tour and make it a success.”
Robert Cordisco, Palm Beach Gardens, FL

“I would not hesitate in the least to fully endorse the show and its quality to anyone.”
Jack Howard-Potter, New York, New York

See the attached RFP and make sure to visit www.suwanee.com/businessmatters.requestsforproposals.php for supporting information.  Additionally, you may want to check outwww.suwanee.com/whatsnew.sculptour.php  for information about our current exhibit.  If you find you have questions after reviewing these resources, feel free to contact  myself or Denise Brinson at770-945-8996 or by e-mailing tshrewsbury@suwanee.com ordenise@suwanee.com.

Your contact information may have presented itself more than once during my research of various artists groups and organizations, if you received this e-mail multiple times, that’s probably karma telling you  that you should submit a proposal!  If you know of another artist or group of artists who might be interested in this project, I encourage you to forward this information.

Sincerely,

Toni
