Join two of the South’s leading regional organizations, Alternate ROOTS and Project South, for a participatory session to explore:

  • Popular education, cultural organizing, and community-based arts as a means for people to increase their civic agency;
  • The power of place-based coalitions for advancing social equity;
  • The role of scholars and artists in 20th and 21st century freedom movements; and
  • New regional and national programs and partnerships we can develop!

For more information, call Ashley Davis at 404-577-1079.

Alternate ROOTS supports the creation and presentation of original art that is rooted in communities of place, tradition or spirit. We are a group of artists and cultural organizers based in the South creating a better world together. As Alternate ROOTS, we call for social and economic justice and are working to dismantle all forms of oppression—everywhere.
