If you are interested in attending ROOTS Weekend: Jacksonville and need financial assistance, please fill out the ROOTS Weekend Travel Subsidy Request Form. Requests are due Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 5pm EST. We will award stipends on a rolling basis during the application period – meaning we will disburse available funds from now until January 17 – so participants are encouraged to apply early!

Travel subsidies are open to anyone interested in attending ROOTS Weekend: Jacksonville, which has a sliding scale registration fee. One of the goals of the ROOTS Weekend Series is to strengthen our membership in specific regions across the South. With this goal in mind, preference will be given to those who live in Florida, and the surrounding region: Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina.

Please list any organizations, movements, or campaigns with whom you work closely.

We are able to offer travel stipends up to $250. We ask that you request only what you need, so that we can support as many people as possible in attending ROOTS Weekend: Jacksonville. If selected, you will make your own arrangements for travel and lodging and your travel subsidy check will be available at the registration desk at ROOTS Weekend: Jacksonville.                                                                                                                                                                            

If you are awarded a stipend and need the funds before your travel, you may contact the ROOTS office by February 27, 2019. If you receive travel funds as a ROOTS Weekend presenter, you are not eligible to receive a travel subsidy.
