Facilitator / Trainers
This learning exchange will be co-facilitated by longtime ROOTS members and collaborators, Marquez Rhyne (Memphis, TN/Chicago, IL) and Tufara Waller Muhammad (Little Rock, AK). Both are seasoned trainers and curriculum developers who strategically use art and culture to build progressive policies and practices across the U.S. South and nationally.
Alternate ROOTS recognizes that strong facilitation skills are an invaluable tool for artists, culture workers, organizers and anyone working to support community transformation. These skills are helpful in supporting communities to be self-empowered. Facilitation that builds safety, trust, and respect is required in all the work that takes place within the ROOTS network.
As such, we are building a toolkit for workshop facilitation with cultural relevance for southern artists, cultural workers and cultural organizers. We need good partners like you to help us further shape and maximize the impact of the toolkit and training in development. We also hope that you find the material beneficial for furthering your creative organizing and professional goals as well. The spaces are very limited. The target attendance is 15.
