These conversations are graciously hosted by the Alliance Theatre as part of the 150th commemoration of the Civil War.

Over the past five months we have explored the intersection and connections of the Civil War with many different communities in the Atlanta metro area. These evenings are not a history lesson but rather a fun and personal experience of many people coming together to share stories, to learn from each other, and to hear each other. In December we learned from and shared stories with Atlanta’s Chinese American Community. In January we had a great conversation with Native Americans, in February and March we met with Atlanta’s African American and Native Atlanta communities. (Did you know that 200 Chinese served in the Civil War, on the Union side? Only one of the 200 was born in the US!)

On May 20th we will host, Raising Our Voices: Elevar Nuestra Voces, a conversation with Atlanta’s growing Latino communities. The evening will include dinner and drinks, a tour of the Cyclorama Museum, and amazing conversation. Parking is free!

Dr. Anita Brown is our amazing facilitator for the evening and Dr. Arturo Lindsay is our guest artist.

Seating is limited so please have guests RSVP to: macpeach2510@gmail.com
