Beacon Dance

Beacon DanceAbout the Group:
Beacon Dance is a professional, performance-focused organization. Our mission is to enrich the lives of those who intersect with our work, by presenting classes, workshops and performances to the general public. We design our projects to be interactive experiences with our audiences, to reflect the realities of our time, to occur in unusual spaces and with passionate attention. Beacon Dance seeks to provide our programming as public art—free of charge and within the public realm. As an organization, Beacon Dance is committed to the ideals of the public art movement: Access, public service, social justice and responsibility.

Current Projects:

The Elemental Project (Full length performances inspired by the primal elements of Water, Earth, Fire and Air)
At Once Now and Then (an evening-length multi-disciplinary performance addressing some aspects of mental disability)
A Bountiful Feast (an evening-length performance inspired by cultural food practices)
The Marriage Project (An evening length multi-disciplinary performance reflecting various communities’ attitudes on marriage).
