About the Company:
The Cripple Creek Theatre Company is a professional, non-profit organization dedicated to producing dramatic works of cultural, historical, and political relevance in order to provoke the general public into social action.
Current Projects:
“Possum Kingdom”: For the six denizens of a small camp located at the bottom of the river life consists of scraping a mysterious substance called “Brosia” and shipping it to the people up river. What do people dependent upon a destructive occupation do when that occupation disappears? This show mixes politics, physicality, original music, and simple machines to create an entrancing outdoor theater experience with a heavy dose of magic.
“Major Swelling’s Salvation Salve Medicine Show”: A crash course in Louisiana politics, this musical is led by a huckster, schemer, and civil war veteran moving from town to town hawking his Salvation Salve. All is going well until Swelling’s arch nemesis, Bobby Jinal, hijacks the Medicine Show but Major Swelling won’t take it lying down. A collaboration with Goat in the Road Productions and written by Artistic Director Andy Vaught.
