Phyllis FreeAbout the artist:
Phyllis Free is a master drummer (drumset & djembe), poet, and choreographic, theatrical, & visual artist.  She is also a master teaching artist, and professional development trainer & workshop facilitator.  Phyllis says the following about her work: “I believe in the power of the arts to enhance personal growth and to create positive social change, to focus attention on issues and experiences which isolate, divide, or connect us, and to bridge the gaps in between. I hold a passionate belief that the essential “heart of the arts” is the power to speak the truth of one’s own experience and the opportunity the arts present for us to respond to what is expressed by others.”
