As the Communications Director, Nicole implements the strategy for all internal and external communications. Working closely with Programs and

Operations staff, she ensures that ROOTS myriad communications articulate and advance the mission of the organization and that ROOTS is viewed as a primary source, disseminator, and conduit of information within the field of arts and social justice.

Nicole Gurgel-Seefeldt is a writer, performing artist, and arts administrator. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Nicole has been working and learning at the intersection of arts, activism, and community for over a decade, in Minneapolis & St. Paul, MN, Chennai, India, Blacksburg, VA, Austin, TX, and now Albuquerque, NM. She holds an M.F.A. in Performance as Public Practice from The University of Texas at Austin and is passionate about sharing the stories of artists engaged in the work of social justice.

Alternate ROOTS supports the creation and presentation of original art that is rooted in communities of place, tradition or spirit.
